Nationwide is offering 100 days of free home insurance to new customers who take out contents and buildings insurance at the same time.

From now until 5 September 2010, new Nationwide home insurance customers can cut the cost of protecting their home and contents by getting 100 days worth of free cover.

Householders can save even more if they buy online, Nationwide says, where customers can get an additional 20 days of free home insurance.

Nationwide’s ’5 Star Rating’ cover, as voted by independent financial research company Defaqto, says it offers customers savings on their premiums “without compromising on quality”.

John Baker head of general insurance at Nationwide’s, said:  “As always, we strive to give our customers the best possible home insurance cover so they can be assured they have bought a quality product they can rely on, at a great price.”

He added: “We are delighted that our cover has been recognised this year with a 5 Star rating from an independent reviewer.”
