No one ever likes to think that anything could spoil their big day but with the average wedding in the UK costing over £20,000, a plan for wedding insurance should be part of all wedding and civil ceremony plans. While wedding insurance cover does not cover the bride or bridegroom changing their mind, it does cover the unexpected occurrences that that can cause a wedding to be postponed or canceled. Cover is generally available for three types of ceremonies; a UK wedding, an overseas wedding or a civil partnership.
A plan for wedding insurance is also a must for a bride who invests a great deal of money in a special wedding dress that would not be covered by normal household insurance as she waits for the big day. We insure jewellry, why not a wedding dress which can cost far more than a piece of jewellry. The wedding rings are typically covered under wedding insurance cover too.
UK Christmas weddings are especially beautiful as the snow gently falls and everyone is in a holiday mood. The bride and groom look forward to a warm tropical getaway for their honeymoon as soon as their friends and family have seen them tie the knot but the United Kingdoms weather may not always be so cooperative. Wedding insurance cover will cover not only the inability of 50% or more of the guests from making it to the wedding due to extreme weather, it also covers a wedding postponement due to weather-related damage to the wedding reception or wedding venue.
While everyone hopes their wedding will go smoothly without any mishaps, weddings rarely do. Most couples have a story to tell about their wedding such as the minister not appearing, the wedding gifts being stolen or the groom accidentally knocking over an expensive statue at the reception venue. While people laugh over these incidents years later, they will be the first to suggest that couples planning their wedding also make a plan for wedding insurance.
